Corin kittens are born as brown black tabbies and develop their colors later. The manifestation of the color strength maybe mild where their stripes become a rich chocolate or extreme where their stripes take on the color of autumn leaves.

A brown tabby and a golden tabby may sometime look similar. A torbie may also pass off as a golden tabby.
Sometimes the strength of the gene is insufficient for a full saturation to occur. It is therefore important to correctly identify your kitten by looking at its nose and paws.

A golden tabby is not born gold. These charming cats have clean (not edged with black or brown) deep pink ( not pale pink ) noses .

They have black (or slate if it is a dilute golden tabby) paws. They do not have pink paw pads.
